Kodak's patented nanoparticulate milling process is the key to what makes our colors pop.
During our manufacturing process, we carefully select cyan, magenta, yellow and black pigments, refining our particles down to an average size of less than 50 nanometers – typically half the size of competitor inks. Other milling methods can't even come close to matching that.
These finer pigments reduce light scatter and deliver ultra-thin ink layers after drying. That means richer, purer colors, longer-lasting images and a superior color gamut and tonal scale compared to offset. Even better, EKTACOLOR Inks require less ink coverage to create the same outstanding quality – which means your running costs will be lower, too.
EKTACOLOR Inks are available for both pigment and dye-based applications, allowing maximum versatility depending on your needs.
For the ultimate in image permanence EKTACOLOR Inks formulated for use in PROSPER 7000 Turbo or PROSPER 6000 presses utilize Kodak's nanoparticulate pigments. These pigment formulations are also available in EKTACOLOR Inks for KODAK PROSPER Plus and PROSPER S-Series Imprinting Systems.
For specialty colors and effects, as well as compelling cost savings, EKTACOLOR Inks are available in dye-based formulations for the PROSPER Plus and PROSPER S-Series, which can print at the industry-leading speed of up to 900 mpm (3,000 fpm), allowing you to create a hybrid system that's truly fit for the future.
EKTACOLOR Inks are suitable for many specialty applications, from packaging and food-safe environments to personal care applications and publishing. They are also manufactured with ultra-low humectant levels, which make them much safer and more pleasant to use.
EKTACOLOR inks are printed with Kodak's innovative Stream Continuous Inkjet Technology, which uses a unique air deflection method to generate droplets, enabling the fastest inkjet printing speeds on the market.
That means you’ll be up and running again on the next job in no time – and enjoy less maintenance and printhead clogging compared to traditional drop-on-demand technology.
When your printheads have to be renewed, there's no need to dump them into landfill – just return them to us and we’ll refurbish them so that they're good as new. Divert excess waste from landfills to reduce your carbon footprint.
EKTACOLOR Inks work in parallel with KODAK OPTIMAX Primers to give you even more choice and flexibility.
OPTIMAX Primers enhance image quality and ink durability across a huge variety of substrates. No need for different inks, no more pricey, pre-treated inkjet papers – OPTIMAX Primers enable you to optimize your own print for every job.
Whether you're printing color inserts, cardboard, or flexible packaging, OPTIMAX Primers deliver more durable print, clearer colors and sharper images – ensuring your print looks as good as it can be, no matter what you print on.
