This year, Kodak has once again been chosen as a European Digital Press (EDP) Award winner. The company received this coveted industry award in the Inks & Toners category for its new Custom Color solution, which is available for the KODAK NEXFINITY and KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Presses. This is the third year running that Kodak has won an EDP Award for its sheetfed digital press platform.

Custom Color lets users of KODAK Digital Presses supply Dry Inks with customer-specific colors in small batch quantities. These Dry Inks provide matching to specific brand colors as well as specialty applications and support combinations with CMYK inks in a single pass. Unlike competitive offerings that must be used in a short period of time before they expire, the Kodak custom inks can be safely stored and used over years. This allows users of KODAK Digital Presses to economically offer these inks to clients.

The Custom Color solution complements the eleven different special Dry Inks which Kodak has developed for the Fifth Imaging Unit of the NEXFINITY and NEXPRESS Digital Presses – the most recent addition being KODAK Metallic Clear Dry Ink, which achieves metallic effects such as silver, bronze, copper and more or simulates pearlized stocks.

"We're delighted to have won an EDP Award for our sheetfed digital press platform for the third time running. These awards reflect Kodak's continuous commitment to the ongoing advancement of our electrophotographic presses in line with technology and application needs," said John O'Grady, President, Print Systems Division, Kodak.

"The Custom Color solution makes our digital presses more flexible and helps our customers fulfill their own customers' specific requirements – and it does so very efficiently."

The EDP Awards were presented to the winners by the EDP Association (European Digital Press Association) on May 15, 2019 during the FESPA Global Print Expo in Munich, Germany. The EDP Association is an alliance of 21 leading digital print magazines from all over Europe. Since 2007, the annual EDP Awards have honored the best new developments in presses and systems, software, substrates, inks, materials, enhancement solutions and finishing systems for the digital sector.
