United Way event

Kodak celebrates the ACADEMY AWARDS® each year by hosting a charity event for a local organization. This year’s gathering raised funds for the United Way of Greater Rochester. The event included food and refreshments, auction activities, musical entertainment, and of course, watching the awards show live in the Kodak Center Theater.

A major wind storm moved through the Rochester area on the day of the event, but many people braved the elements to come together for this important cause and fun evening to celebrate filmmakers. It is a unique experience watching the OSCARS® at the very location where film has been manufactured for over a century. Kodak has won nine ACADEMY AWARDS® since 1931, and attendees were able to see the statuettes first-hand and take pictures with one of them during the event.

Kodak’s support for the United Way dates back to the days of George Eastman, which made this a special evening where folks could gather to support a critical organization in the Rochester Community.
