Kodak Book House Launches in Chongqing, China

After more than three months of preparation, the team from Kodak China partnered with the YES Program, to launch the Kodak Book House in a Library in Chongqing, China. Kodak contributed more than 1,200 children’s books, with almost 250 of which were donated by employees.

On October 13, a ceremony was held to celebrate the book house. More than a dozen children participated in the celebration, and together with volunteers from Kodak and the YES Program, they read books together and created beautiful crafts by using leaves and flowers. Everyone enjoyed the day, and as one 10-year old student stated, “I would love to come to the Book House every day after school. I greatly enjoy the reading time.” As PSD Regional Program Manager, Sandy Sun, shared, “The Kodak Book House has been created as a pleasant place for the children of Maojia Tun to enjoy their reading time. We hope an interest in reading will take root in the hearts of children as more books are now available in their local community.”
