Kodak is proud to announce that it has been selected by the National Academy of Television and Arts & Science (NATAS) as a winner of a 2020 Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award. This prestigious industry accolade recognizes developments and standardization involved in television engineering which are either significant improvements on existing technologies or radical innovations that have had a material impact on television.
The Emmy® awarded to Kodak honors the company’s excellence in engineering creativity for the pioneering development of intra-pixel charge transfer CMOS image sensors which allowed TV video cameras to be more compact, more reliable and less expensive. The size, power use and efficiency of the CMOS system were significant factors in the development of today’s HD video.
“We’re honored that NATAS has recognized Kodak with a Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award for contributions that have paved the way for today’s sophisticated HD TV camera technology,” said Jim Continenza, Executive Chairman and CEO, Eastman Kodak Company. “I’m proud to lead a company that is committed to leveraging our deep expertise in advanced materials and chemicals to continue driving innovation.”
The official presentation to this year’s award winners will take place on the occasion of the 72nd Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy® Awards Ceremony, which is planned as a virtual event on October 10, 2021 in partnership with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show / Conference.
