Students in Fort Mitchell, Alabama now have a beautiful new outdoor classroom because of the support from Kodak Columbus volunteers. Mount Olive Primary was recently awarded a $2,000 grant to fund this project, and Kodak employees worked to help build out the new space.

Grant Venable, a Manufacturing Engineer for Kodak’s PSD team, helped to lead the effort and shared, “A member of our maintenance team, Jeff Brown, has a significant amount of experience building decks. Once I asked for volunteers, the immediate response was overwhelming. We had enough volunteers within 30 minutes.” The group helped to build a 10x10 square stage with a new large chalkboard. In addition, they installed new benches where the seatbacks fold up and can be used as tables.

Kodak volunteers were eager to donate their time and talents to support these students who can now enjoy their classwork in the open air.
