Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)

GHS Statement

The Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) was created as a global standard for chemical hazard classification and communication. Many countries throughout the world have adopted GHS as the regulatory standard for Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and product labels.

For countries where Kodak chemical products are manufactured or sold, Kodak has updated all existing SDSs to be GHS compliant. However, there are ongoing transition periods during which time some products available for sale may have a different label than indicated on the corresponding SDS due to the movement of stock through the supply chain. Over time and in compliance with legislation, all products will be updated to the new label format.

GHS specifies statements to be used to communicate hazards and handling precautions. Changes to SDS and product labels resulting from the transition to GHS are due to GHS requirements rather than changes in product formulations.

The most recent version of each Kodak SDS can be obtained at http://www.kodak.com/go/sds.

Employers should ensure their employees are familiar with the new hazard phrases, precautionary statements, and hazard pictograms that appear on SDSs and labels.
