Got Questions about Going Process-Free? We Have Answers.
When a new technology passes the early adoption phase in terms of performance and cost to implement, acceptance rates evolve quickly – especially when economic drivers change, or pain points increase. Today, the Print industry is experiencing rapid change and new challenges that are accelerating the shift to new innovative technologies that eliminate waste and increase profitability. With the launch of KODAK SONORA X Process Free Plates, the benefits of process free plates became widely accessible to most printers around the world, allowing more of the industry to eliminate all the costs, waste and variability of processing. Before the launch of SONORA X Process Free Plates in 2018, however, process free wasn’t for everyone. With the new technology behind SONORA X Plates, the situation has changed. Because these plates offer longer run lengths (for web and UV) and better FM capability than previous generations of process free plates,
It's not goodbye, only au revoir!
Sometimes even the most profitable relationships come to an end. We design our Kodak manufactured Computer to Plate (CTP) equipment to perform for the long run – often longer than the business need of its original owner. Perhaps the Kodak CTP device you bought accelerated your business and can no longer provide the capacity you now need. Perhaps you gained or lost a substantial account that drastically changed your capacity needs. The printing industry is highly dynamic and sometimes the needs of a business evolve enough that capital equipment needs to be divested – whether to be replaced with an upgrade or as part of overall capacity reduction. There are many reasons why you might judge the time is right to replace or sell your current Kodak CTP device. We're here to help you continue to maximise the value of the investment you've already made, no matter where your business is headed. Kodak demonstrates the confidence it has in its equipment and offers genero
How important is an engine?
If you are on a boat on a fast moving river, having an engine would be critical to navigate your way around obstacles. In addition, having an engine allows to you to get to your desired destination. For a CTP device, the thermal head is like the engine, keeping your plate making operation going, straight, steady and fast enough to get print jobs out the door quickly. One key development on Kodak CTPs is the launch of the new Thermal Head 7 (TH7). This is our newest head type used in W-speed MAGNUS Q800, MAGNUS VLF, TRENDSETTER Q400 and TRENDSETTER Q800 Platesetters. Having TH7 allows us to retire the older Thermal Head 3 (TH3), which are used on Z-speed MAGNUS Q800 and MAGNUS VLF Platesetters. So think of this as an engine transplant on the CTP machine: out with the old and in with the new. Now that TH7 is available, Kodak will discontinue production of TH3. For existing TH3 customers, rest assured that Kodak service has this planned out to ensure
