Specialty Chemicals Sponsors Scale-up Conference and Tour of Kodak’s Manufacturing Plant

  • August 15, 2017

Being an industry leader isn’t just about providing the best possible services to customers, it’s also about bringing novel ideas and innovations to the frontline for the benefit of everyone. Employing its expertise and decades of experience, Kodak Specialty Chemicals is building a strong footing in contract manufacturing, custom synthesis and scale-up as a reliable and cost-effective supplier for its many customers.

In accordance with this goal, Kodak chemists were excited to attend the 17th annual Scale-up of Chemical Processes Conference, hosted by Scientific Update, which took place June 21-23 in Kodak’s home of Rochester, New York. Kodak’s participation was a significant factor in many attendees’ experiences at the conference. Kodak chemists gave presentations and hosted a tour of Kodak’s manufacturing facilities.

The conference is known and respected for providing an opportunity for industry professionals to congregate, present case studies and network with other key industry figures. Every year, the conference attracts professionals from many different countries, companies and industries, and this year, more than 60 attendees came to Rochester from around the globe.

The conference took place at the Radisson Hotel, where hand-picked speakers presented scale-up-related case studies and answered questions from the attendees. The next day, as the primary sponsor of the event, Kodak hosted a tour of the company’s chemical manufacturing facilities, located in Eastman Business Park.

Director of Scientific Update Claire Francis said, “It was a pleasure to work with Kodak to bring our ‘Scale-Up’ conference to Rochester and include a visit to the Eastman Kodak site. We had a wonderful tour through memory lane and also an insight into the new business that Kodak Speciality Chemicals is offering. Delegates were particularly impressed with the Kodak facilities and by the detailed safety briefings held each day. The evening culminated in a dinner and chance to have a photo taken with one of Kodak’s ‘Oscars’. The opportunity to work with clients such as Kodak bring an extra dimension to our conferences, allowing people more chances to network and discuss ideas and issues they are currently facing. We would like to thank Kodak for this opportunity.”
