Suggestions for Optimizing Search Results

1. Use the pop-up menu to select a state.
   
   • This will help to speed up the search.
   • To search across states, leave this field blank (the blank selection is at the top of the state list, above AK).
   
   
2. The search assumes that your criteria is at the beginning of the City and/or Zipcode fields.
   
   • If you type port in the City field, you will get a hit on Citizen's Photo in "Portland," OR, but you will not get a hit on Information Networks Inc. in "Westport," CT.
   
   
3. Beware of abbreviations and acronyms!
   
   • The search is strictly a text matching search.
   • If you are searching for dealers in Los Angeles, you should type Los Angeles (or "Los Ang"-- a string that will match the full name) and not LA .
   
   
4. For DC20/40/50 products, a narrow search is best.
   
   • Because there are many dealers in this category, it is best to select a state, and type the first few letters of a City name. For example, typing Minn in the City field will narrow a search within the state of MN to cities beginning with "Minn," i.e., Minneapolis.
   • For large cities, it may be helpful to type in the first few digits of a nearby zip code. In the example above, Minneapolis listings can be further narrowed by zip code. In addition to typing Minn in the City field, type 553 or 554 in the zip code field.
   
   
5. For some of the Product Groups a broader search is better.
   
   • Because there are not as many dealers in these categories, you may want to search on an entire state, or try searches on a variety of states.
