The KODAK Photo CD Imaging Workstations 2220 and 2420
This system gives you an economical entry into the digital domain,
allowing you to offer digital imaging services to clients who utilize 35 mm images.
Configuration
The KODAK Photo CD Imaging Workstation 2220 consists of:
- PCD Scanner 2000
- PCD Data Manager S 420 with 17"(432 mm) digital
monitor
- PCD Writer 225
- KODAK XLS 8600 Printer
The KODAK Photo CD Imaging Workstation 2420
This enhanced system offers you all the 35 mm digital imaging
capabilities of the PIW 2220, plus greatly increased speed and throughput. In addition
to the components of the PIW 2220, it utilizes the KODAK PCD Film Scanner Auto Gate 2000,
as well as two writers without requiring the purchase or use of a buffer box.

The KODAK Photo CD Imaging Workstation 2420 consists of:
- PCD Scanner 2000
- PCD Data Manager S 420 with 17" (432 mm) digital
monitor
- KODAK XLS 8600 Printer
- PCD Writer 225 (two units included)
- KODAK PCD Film Scanner Auto Gate 2000
New Features
- Data manager, monitor, and CD-ROM drive have been integrated,
maximizing ease-of-use and productivity.
- New user interface employs an application similar to WINDOWS
Software and allows customization of screen characteristics for greater speed
and
convenience.
- Enhanced security features include watermarking and basic
data-level encryption.
- System is compatible with updated versions of KODAK Photo
CD Access Plus and Acquire software.
System Benefits
- Enhancement controls allow automatic adjustment color balance,
density saturation, and contrast.
- Images at Base resolution and Base/4 can be watermarked
with the design of the customer's choice, so that they may be viewed but not output.
- Images at 64 Base, 16 Base, and 4 Base can be encrypted,
preventing them from being accessed; lower-resolution versions of these images are still
accessible on the disc for viewing.
- System allows custom cropping of images, semi-automatic
removal of dust and scratches, and verification of the video safe area.
- Tag images with text identifying copyrights, photographer
names, and other information.
- SunSPARC Computer technology performs high-speed reading
and writing simultaneously.
- Optional file export feature allows transmission of files
to other computers in the network, or to image manipulation systems such as the KODAK PREMIER System.
