You can help ensure successful software installation if you remember to close down background applications before you install KODAK Camera software on your WINDOWS System. Applications running in the background that are not apparent to you can interfere with the installation and cause errors when you attempt to install any software. Follow the simple procedure below for your system whenever you are preparing to install software.

For WINDOWS 98 / 98SE / ME

  1. Go to Start > Run > and type: msconfig in the Open field and click OK.

    The System Configuration Utility appears.

  2. On the General Tab, select "Selective Startup" and uncheck "Load startup group items."

  3. Click Apply, then OK.

  4. Choose Yes to restart the computer.

For WINDOWS NT/2000

  1. Turn off any anti-virus software.

  2. Close any open programs.

Now you can insert your KODAK CD-ROM and choose the language you wish to use and follow the on-screen prompts. If during the installation you get a message that states "A file being copied is older than the one on your computer." choose Yes to keep your file.

Usually, closing down the background applications will prevent or correct installation problems and allow a successful software installation. If you are still experiencing installation problems with your KODAK Software, in the US call Technical Support at 1-888-375-6325. Elsewhere in the world, call Kodak in your country.
