*** IMPORTANT NOTE ***: The instructions below are for FILM cameras only - NOT for digital cameras. For digital camera repairs, see our online digital camera Interactive Troubleshooting & Repairs.
Many products that are sent for repair do not need service. Check your camera as suggested below before you send it in for service.
- If your camera is powered by user-replaceable batteries, test that your batteries are up to operational level. Your local photofinisher can do this for you. It is possible for even a newly purchased battery to be at less than full strength. Also, make sure you are using the correct type of battery (alkaline, lithium, etc) as stated in your user's manual. A regular or heavy-duty battery may not have enough power to operate your camera.
- If your camera is not working as it should be, refer to your camera's user manual for the condition that you are experiencing. The "Troubleshooting Guide" that appears in the back of most manuals is helpful and can save you from unnecessarily sending in your camera. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), which can help you resolve your problem, are also posted online.

Is your camera under warranty?
IMPORTANT: Misuse, such as impact damage, and damage due to exposure to sand, moisture, etc., are not covered and will VOID the Kodak warranty.
Before you send your camera for service, determine whether it is still under warranty. A general rule is:
- If you have owned your camera less than 12 months, it's under warranty.
- If you have owned your camera more than 12 months, it's NOT under warranty.

Where do you send your equipment for service?
- If your camera is still under warranty:
Film Cameras call 1-800-242-2424, ext 10, to obtain the proper repair address.
Digital Cameras call 1-800-235-6325 to obtain a repair authorization number and the proper repair address. (Please note, we do not repair cameras at our facilities in Rochester, N. Y.)
- If your camera is NOT under warranty, send your equipment to any of the Authorized Repair Service Centers.
- Choose the nearest service center that offers service on your equipment. Before sending your equipment, contact the service center by telephone to discuss the terms of repair and to tell them if the equipment is needed back by a specific date.
- Complete the problem report form
PDF [53 Kb] and include it with your equipment.
How do you pack your camera?
- When sending a camera for service, it's helpful to include photographic samples:
- If you send prints, include the negatives; they can tell the technician if the problem is related to processing or printing.
- If you send slides, send a complete roll of film showing what's wrong.
- Pack your equipment carefully.
- Place your equipment in a plastic bag to keep out dirt and packing material.
- Use a sturdy carton large enough for you to surround the equipment completely with packing material, such as three inches of crumpled newspaper on all sides, top, and bottom.
- Securely fasten the carton with tape.
- Clearly write the address of the Authorized Repair Service Center and your name and address on the top and bottom of the carton.
- You may want to insure the package for replacement value and ship by either Parcel Post or UPS.
IMPORTANT: The following Authorized Repair Service Centers service Kodak equipment under warranty, as well as equipment that is not under warranty. Post-warranty repair pricing is set by the repair center, not by Eastman Kodak Company. Please contact a repair center directly for pricing information, as well as other details, before sending equipment.
