Use the arrow keys to select the picture you want to rotate.
-
When the yellow bracket is around the picture you want
to rotate, press OK.

there is only room for 8 thumbnails at once, keep using the arrow
keys until you've selected (yellow bracket) either Get
last four pictures or Get next four pictures, and press OK.

Press OK to rotate the selected picture 90°. Pressing
OK again rotates it another 90°. It will remain in this
orientation until you change it.

When the picture is displayed to your satisfaction, press
the arrow key to select another picture.
-
Use the arrow keys to select 'Finish and return
to viewing'. The picture you rotated is displayed first.
NOTE: If a picture on the Frame was rotated using the Rotate
Menu option, it appears with black bars because the Frame had to
adjust the aspect ratio to 4:3.
You cannot rotate pictures that are displayed from a COMPACTFLASH
Card. To avoid creating problems for digital cameras that might
later try to read a picture file from the COMPACTFLASH Card, the
Frame allows pictures on a COMPACTFLASH Card to be copied and deleted,
but they cannot be rotated.
How do I Delete pictures?
-
Use the arrow keys to access Delete
from the Pictures Menu and press OK.
-
Use your arrow keys to select the picture you want to delete.

of the Slide Show Rate you've set for pictures stored on
the Frame.
If you want to display only one picture, select Pause Show. Then,
use the arrow keys to move to the picture you want displayed. You
can always move to different pictures by using the arrow keys.
How do I set the Frame to turn On and Off Automatically?
If you do not set the Automatic On/Off times, the Frame
defaults to turning on at 6 a.m and turning off at 12 a.m.
-
Access the On/Off Times option
in the Frame Menu (use arrow keys to bracket, and press OK).
-
Select Enable Auto On/Off (use the arrow keys
to bracket, if necessary, and then press OK).
-
Set the Auto-Off time in Step 1. Use the arrow key(s) to
select the correct hour, and press OK. Use the arrow key(s) to select
the correct minutes, and press OK (holding an arrow key down will
quickly advance the selections). Use your arrow key to select a.m.
or p.m., and press OK.
-
Set the Auto-On time in Step 2. Repeat the method used
in Step 1.
-
In Step 3, if the Auto-On and Auto-Off
times are correct, select, if necessary, 'Accept on/off times',

to disable them or change them, there are three choices when you
open the On/Off Times option in the Frame Menu:
-
Disable Auto On/Off (to
disable, press OK, if this option is already selected).
-
Change on/off times (follow procedure outlined
above).
-
Return to Main Menu (to exit option with no change).
How do I turn the "CF" icon on
and off?
You can set a small CF symbol to be displayed on pictures that
are resident on an inserted COMPACTFLASH Card. To enable or disable
this icon:
-
Access the Advanced option in the Frame
Menu (use arrow keys to bracket, and press OK).
-
Use arrow keys to select Set CF Card Icon Display, and
press OK.
-
In Step 1, use the arrow key to select Yes or No as follows:
-
In Step 2, leave Accept the Setting highlighted (red bracket)
if you have set the icon as desired, and press OK. You receive a
message that the CF Card Icon setting has been changed, and the
frame returns to displaying pictures.
-
If the icon is not set as desired, use the arrow key to
highlight Re-enter the setting and press OK. Repeat Step 1, or,
if you decide not to change the icon setting, use your arrow key
to highlight Cancel all changes, and press OK. Pictures from a COMPACTFLASH
Card will be displayed as they were previously.
How do I set the time?
This is very important because the Automatic on/off
function requires that the Frame's time is set correctly.
-
Access the Advanced option in the Frame
Menu (use arrow keys to bracket, and press OK).
-
Use the arrow keys to select Set the Time, and press OK.
-
Set the time in Step 1. Use the arrow keys to select the
correct hour and press OK. Use the arrow keys to select the correct
minutes, and press OK (holding an arrow key down quickly advances
the selections). Use the arrow key to select a.m. or p.m., and press
OK.
-
In Step 3, leave Accept Settings highlighted (red bracket)
if the time is correct, and press OK. You receive a message that
the time has been changed, and the Frame returns to displaying pictures.
-
If the time is incorrect, use your arrow key to highlight
Enter It Again, press OK and repeat Step 1.
If you decide not to change the time, use the arrow key to highlight
Cancel Changes, and press OK. The Frame begins to display pictures
immediately.
How do I view my pictures on my COMPACTFLASH Card?
Insert a COMPACTFLASH Card containing digital pictures into the
Frame. Insert the card into the side of the Frame. The Frame automatically
begins to load for display what it believes to be the last picture
on the card (the most recent). In a slide show mode, the pictures
from the COMPACTFLASH Card appear after the pictures stored on the
Frame. COMPACTFLASH Card pictures can be identified on the Frame
by a "CF" icon displayed in the lower right-hand
corner of each picture. You can view in still mode or in slide show
mode.
If you wish, you can copy the pictures from the COMPACTFLASH
Card to your Frame. If you copy your pictures to the Frame this
way, they will be compressed to 640 x 480 resolution.
How do I store pictures from the Frame on a COMPACTFLASH
Card?
You can copy a picture from the Frame to a COMPACTFLASH Card.
The Frame stores up to 36 VGA (640 x 480) pictures in the JPEG
(.jpg) file format. If higher resolution pictures are copied to
the Frame from a COMPACTFLASH Card, they are compressed to 640 x
480 for display on the Frame.
If you are using the COMPACTFLASH Card to store Frame pictures,
you can now delete the copied pictures from the Frame to make room
for new pictures.
How do I remove the black bars from the top and
bottom, or from both sides, of the pictures on my Frame?
This does not indicate a problem with the Frame. You cannot remove
these black bars or black regions at the top and bottom or on either
side of your pictures because the Frame displays images with a 4:3
aspect ratio*. Pictures with 640 x 480 resolution have
an aspect ratio of 4:3 (comparing 640 to 480 is like comparing 4
to 3). If the aspect ratio of a picture is not 4:3, the Frame adjusts
the aspect ratio to 4:3. Black bars are the result of this adjustment.
For example, a picture from a KODAK Picture CD has a resolution
of 1024 x 1536, and, an aspect ratio of 1:1.5 Therefore, a picture
from a Picture CD and stored on a COMPACTFLASH Card is displayed
on the frame with black bars (their position dependent on whether
the picture is landscape or portrait). However, a picture with higher-resolution
that has a 4:3 aspect ratio will be compressed to 640 x 480 for
display on the Frame, but it won't be displayed with black
bars.
If a picture on the Frame was rotated using the Pictures Menu,
Rotate option, it will also appear with black bars because the Frame
had to adjust the aspect ratio to 4:3.
*Aspect ratio is a comparison of the horizontal resolution
to the vertical resolution
How do I safely clean my Frame (bezel)?
You can wipe your Frame with a damp, soft cloth, if necessary.
If you want to remove the bezel (wooden frame) to do a thorough
cleaning with a wood cleaner or polish:
-
Turn off the Frame and unplug the power
supply from the wall.
-
Turn the frame upside-down so that the LCD screen is facing
(or, is in) your lap.
-
Locate two tabs with indentations molded into them behind
the frame stand, against the bezel.
-
Using your thumbs, on these indentations, press down and
away from the bezel. This is difficult and will require strength.
-
Gently remove the bezel from the Frame LCD-back-stand assembly.
To replace the bezel, align the LCD (there is no up or down)
with the bezel and press firmly until the bezel clicks into place.
How do I Caption a Picture?
You cannot caption pictures for display on your Frame.
How do I rearrange the order of my pictures on the
Frame from the Frame?
You cannot rearrange the order of your pictures on the Frame.
