A MICROSOFT Jet Database Error occurs when you attempt to manipulate a Read Only file. This can happen when copying over jobs previously backed up on a CD or when a file is accidentally set for Read Only.

You cannot change the attributes of files located on a CD. You must copy the files to your hard drive to make changes.

To change the Read Only setting on one file:

  1. Right-click on the file and select Properties.

  2. Clear the Read Only box.

  3. Select Apply.

  4. Select OK.

To change the Read Only setting on several files, directories, or subdirectories:

  1. Right-click on the folder and select Properties.

  2. Clear the Read Only box.

  3. Select Apply.

  4. Select Apply Changes to this Folder, Subfolder and Files.

  5. Select OK.

  6. Select Apply.

  7. Select OK.

Note: You can change Directory (folder) attributes on WINDOWS 2000 and WINDOWS XP OS only.
