Paper Will Not Feed Properly

Kodak Digital Science 8650 Color Printer
Kodak Digital Science 8650 PS Color Printer
Kodak Professional 8650R Thermal Printer

25 April 2003

If your printer is not feeding (picking) the paper correctly, the pick rollers may be dirty. Follow the instructions in the Operator's Guide, pages 4-14 thru 4-16, to clean the pick rollers.

If there are dials on the bottom of the paper tray, they may need adjusting. Not all trays have these dials. To adjust the dials:

Step

Action

1

Remove the paper tray from the printer.

2

Check the paper for curl.

3

If the paper is curled, remove the paper and the blue board from the tray.

4

Locate the dials on the bottom of the tray.

5

Use a coin to rotate the dials to the appropriate setting.

If the edges of the paper curl upward, rotate the dials to the plus (+) position.
If the edges of the paper curl downward, or you are printing on Kodak Ektatherm Transparency Material, adjust the dials to the minus (-) position.

6

Replace the paper and the blue board in the tray.

7

Insert the tray into the printer.
