Clearing the Paper Path

Paper will occasionally jam in the printer. Jams are typically identified by a Clear Paper Path or Check Tray error message.

Step 1:

Open the printer cover. An automatic locking feature prevents you from opening the cover during printing. If you cannot open the cover, turn the printer Off and then On again. If you still cannot open the cover, service is required.

Step 2:

If media is in the paper path, gently pull it up and out of the printer.

Step 3:

Close the printer cover.

Step 4:

If media is jammed in the paper tray area, remove the paper tray.

Step 5:

Look through the tray insertion slot into the tray area. Gently remove any jammed media. If you cannot remove the media, service is required.

Step 6:

Slide the tray back into the printer.
