The following questions outline some of the known problems with KODAK Camera Software for KODAK EASYSHARE Digital Cameras.

KODAK Camera Connection Software

I am unable to search globally on KODAK Connection Software. Is there anything I can do?
If the Search feature does not display results for KODAK Camera Connection Software, KODAK memory Albums, and KODAK Transfer Software, there are two things you can do:

  1. Copy each application's index file (FTS file) from the C:\Windows \Help (or WinNT) directory to the individual application directory (run-time directory) and then search again.

    Results vary depending on the operating system and language:

    • Search results did not display for German, French, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese, and KODAK Camera Connection Software. Copying the CChelp.FTS file to the application directory solved the problem.
    • Search results did not display for Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese and KODAK Camera Connection and Memory Album Software. Copying the respective .FTS files to the application directories fixed the problem.
    WINDOWS MILLENNIUM Search results did not display for Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or Japanese. Since there are no .FTS files, this could not be corrected.
    WINDOWS 98 Search results did not display for Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or Japanese. Since there are no .FTS files, this could not be corrected.
    WINDOWS 98 SE Search results did not display for Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or Japanese. Since there are no .FTS files, this could not be corrected.

  2. Copy a new DLL file into the application directory. Each application installs its own RoboEX32.dll which you can find in each respective application directory (C:\Program Files \KODAK\Camera Connection Software.) If Camera Connection Software fails to generate an FTS file, copy the robohelp32.exe version 9.10.520 DLL from either the Picture Transfer or Memory Albums application directory (for example, C:|Program Files\KODAK\Kodak Memory Albums) to the Camera Connection Software application directory. After replacing the older DLL with the new one, the search feature should work.


KODAK Picture Software

  1. When I e-mail large picture files, they are not received. Why?
    When you e-mail videos or large picture files, the Internet Service Provider (ISP) you send to may set size limitations, or the KODAK Picture CD e-mail server may not send out the message, or there may be problems with the sending ISP. An error message is not generated if a message was not sent.

  2. When I look at a video in the Picture Viewer, pop-ups are hidden.
    When a still picture displays in the Picture Viewer, pop-ups are displayed on top of the picture (for example, projected large thumbnails or tooltips). If you have a video in the Picture Viewer, any pop-ups display behind the video.

  3. When I trim a rotated picture and click Apply, the wrong crop and aspect ratio appears.
    The trim box appears correctly in the Trim window; however, when you click Apply, the trimmed picture does not match the portion of the picture in the trim box or the picture displayed. In addition, the aspect ratio of the trim does not match. To resolve this, trim the picture and click Apply. Immediately click Undo and then click Apply again.

  4. The KODAK Picture Software Window remains in the foreground.
    Sometimes the Picture Software window remains in the foreground regardless of which window is active. It may appear that the Picture Software application is locked up. To resolve this, close Picture Software and restart the application. If this does not correct the problem, restart the computer.
