1. How is KODAK CD-R Ultima different from silver CD-R media?
   Unlike nearly all the other brands, KODAK CD-R media does not use a reflective layer that is pure silver. It is the only CD-R media on the market with real gold added to the reflective layer, and this is important. Kodak found that CD-Rs that have a reflective layer of pure silver degrade over time, resulting in the loss of data stored on the discs. Therefore, because durability is such a critical concern, Kodak decided not to use pure silver in the reflective layer of CD-R Ultima media.
   
   
2. How long will data last on KODAK CD-R Ultima media compared to silver-only media made by other manufacturers?
   The projected data life on KODAK CD-R Ultima media exceeds all the silver-only media that Kodak has tested. Testing shows that KODAK Ultima media outlasts all other brands tested by significant margins (in fact, up to six times longer).
   
   
3. Does KODAK CD-R Ultima media have the INFOGUARD Protection System, like KODAK CD-R Gold Ultima media?
   Yes. All KODAK CD-R Ultima products have the INFOGUARD Protection System, which is also a feature of KODAK CD-R Gold Ultima media. This proprietary system includes one of the most stable dye layers available today, and a super-tough overcoat to help protect the surface of the discs from scratches and fingerprints. In addition, the silver and gold alloy in the reflective layer of KODAK CD-R Ultima discs provides enhanced stability compared to media that has a reflective layer made of pure silver.
   
   
4. What recording speeds can I use for KODAK CD-R Ultima media?
   You can record at speeds of 1X to 12X to create discs that comply with the following standards: CD DA, CD ROM, CD ROM XA, and CD I. Kodak most recently released CD-R Ultima 80 product that is 24X compatible.
   
   
5. Does KODAK CD-R Ultima media work in all CD writers and CD readers?
   Yes, Kodak provides media that is compatible with all leading writers and readers.
   
   
6. Do KODAK CD-R Ultima discs cost more than silver-only discs?
   KODAK CD-R Ultima is competitively priced. It is no more expensive than most other name brand discs on the market. 7. What is the warranty on KODAK CD-R Ultima media?
   All KODAK Ultima products that have the INFOGUARD Protection System carry a lifetime warranty. If any disc is found to be defective in manufacture or packaging, it will be replaced.
