Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing difficulties with your camera, check the following tables for possible solutions. Additional technical information is available in the ReadMe file located in the KODAK EZ200 folder on your hard drive. For updates to Troubleshooting information, visit our EZ200 support page.

Computer Monitor
Problem Cause Solution
The image on your monitor is jagged or inappropriately colored. The monitor is not set correctly. Go to Start Settings Control Panel Display Settings.
Under Color, select a higher color depth (High Color, 16 bit or higher)
EZ200 Software screen takes up too much space on the screen. Screen resolution is set too low. Go to Start Settings Control Panel Display Settings.
Under Screen Area, slide the indicator toward More.
Camera Communications
Problem Cause Solution
Computer cannot communicate with the camera. The USB cable is not properly connected to the camera or computer. Connect the cable to the camera and computer ports.
There is a problem with your USB connection. Visit our web site at www.kodak.com and click Service and Support.
The software is not installed. Install the software.
Camera
Problem Cause Solution
Camera does not turn on. The batteries are not installed properly. Remove and reinstall the batteries.
The batteries are exhausted. Replace the batteries.
Camera
Problem Cause Solution
The shutter button does not work. The camera is not turned on. Turn on the camera.
The camera memory is full. Download pictures to your computer and delete pictures from the camera.
In Digital Camera mode, the focus ring is not set to the position. Turn the focus ring to the setting.
The batteries are low. Replace the batteries.
The camera sound is turned off. The shutter button is working. Turn the Camera Sound on.
Part of the picture is missing. Something was blocking the lens when the picture was taken. Keep hands, fingers, or other objects away from the lens when taking pictures.
Your eye or the picture was not centered correctly in the viewfinder. Leave space around your subject when centering the picture in the viewfinder.
Camera
Problem Cause Solution
The picture is too dark. The subject is in front of a bright light (backlit). Change your position so the light is not behind the subject.
The picture is too light. Your scene is too harshly lit. Reduce the light, move your subject, or change your picture-taking position.
The picture has a vertical stripe. A very bright spot is in the scene. Move your subject, or change your picture-taking position.
The picture is not clear. The lens is dirty. Clean the lens. See the Appendix.
Subject is too close when taking the picture in Digital Camera mode. Stand at least 30 in. (0.75 m) away from your subject.
The camera or your subject moved while the picture was taken. Hold the camera steady until the picture is taken.
Camera Warnings
Problem Cause Solution
The camera emits a low double-tone warning when the Shutter button is pressed half-way down. Low light warning, camera uses a slow shutter speed You can still take a picture. Hold the camera steady or use a tripod to prevent blurring.
The camera emits a low double-tone warning when the Shutter button is pressed all the way down, the focus icon in the LCD blinks In Digital Camera mode (not connected to the PC), the focus ring is not set correctly. The camera does not operate. Turn the focus ring to the setting.
The camera emits a low double-tone warning when the Shutter button is pressed all the way down, the picture count in the LCD blinks The camera memory is full. The camera does not operate. Download pictures to your computer and delete pictures from the camera.

Problem Cause Solution
Live video freezes, you cannot use application. The camera was unplugged while the application was running Plug in the camera and click the Exit button.
