When a memory card is in the camera, the Memory Card icon appears in the LCD Camera Controls and the pictures that you take are stored directly on the card. No pictures are saved to the camera's internal memory.
You can purchase a memory card (CAT No. 802 7138) on-line, from your retailer, or call Kodak. (For information about calling Kodak, refer to Additional Help.)
Important
Inserting a memory card in the camera at the same time that the camera is processing a picture may cause damage to the picture.

When the card is properly inserted in the camera, the EJECT button protrudes.
The Memory Card icon
appears in the LCD.
Wait until the camera completes storing an image before you eject a memory card. The storing operation is finished when the green light next to the viewfinder is no longer illuminated.
Important
Removing a memory card from the camera at the same time the camera is processing a picture may cause damage to the picture.
The memory card is partially ejected from the camera. The Memory Card and Copy Pictures icons disappear. Any additional pictures you take will be saved in the camera's internal memory.
You can copy pictures that are stored in the camera's internal memory onto a memory card.
The Memory Card
and Copy Pictures
icons appear if any pictures are stored in the camera's internal memory.
All pictures in the camera's internal memory are copied to the memory card. The pictures that were copied remain in the camera's internal memory.
The Copy Pictures and Memory Card icons flash and the Pictures Remaining and Pictures Taken Counters flash. The number in the Pictures Remaining Counter decreases, and the number in the Pictures Taken Counter increases.
During a copy operation, if "FUL" appears and flashes in the Pictures Remaining Counter, do the following to continue copying more pictures:
The copy operation will be canceled if an incompatible memory card is inserted into the camera or if the camera goes into the power save mode before you press the SELECT button.
If the memory card is full and you do not have another card or you do not want to copy the rest of the pictures to another card, you can stop the copy operation.
The copy operation stops. The icons stop flashing and the Copy Pictures icon disappears. "FUL" appears in the Pictures Remaining Counter. The number of uncopied pictures is displayed in the Pictures Taken Counter.
The status is reset after you eject the memory card, turn the camera off, or the camera goes into the power save mode.
Once you have transferred stored pictures to your computer, erase the pictures from the memory card to make room for new pictures. All pictures are deleted from the memory card.
If you delete pictures from a memory card when it is in the card reader slot in your computer, the camera will not be able to track the numbers of pictures remaining on the memory card.
The Memory Card icon appears in the LCD. The Erase Pictures icon appears if any pictures are saved in the camera's internal memory or on the memory card.
Important
Make sure that the Memory Card icon appears in the LCD. If you press the ERASE button with no memory card in the camera, all pictures stored in the camera's internal memory will be erased.
The Erase Pictures and Memory Card icons flash, indicating that the pictures are being erased from the memory card.
When the pictures are deleted, the Erase Pictures icon disappears, the Pictures Remaining Counter indicates the maximum number of pictures available, and the Pictures Taken Counter returns to "0."
Caution
Using any power adapter other than those recommended for use with the DC50 Zoom
Camera voids the camera's warranty, and may result in fire, electrical shock, or damage
to the camera.
Important Information regarding your AC adapter
You can plug your camera into an electrical outlet using a optional surge-protected AC power adapter. This saves your batteries when you take a large number of pictures and transfer them to your computer. An AC power adapter port is built into the DC50 Zoom Camera.
You can purchase an AC power adapter (CAT No. 820 9827) on-line, from your retailer, or call Kodak. (For information about calling Kodak, refer to Additional Help.)

The camera's serial and AC power adapter ports are exposed.
