Using the Self-Timer

The Self-Timer creates a 10-second delay between the time you press the Shutter button and the time the picture is taken. This setting is ideal when you want to include yourself in the picture.

  1. Press the button until the icon appears in the Status Display.

  2. To cancel the Self-Timer, press the button repeatedly until neither of the button icons appears in the Status Display.

  3. Place the camera on a flat steady surface, or tripod.

  4. Compose the picture, then press the Shutter button.

  5. The Self-Timer light, located on the front of the camera, turns on for
8-seconds, then blinks for 2 additional seconds before the picture is taken.
