Open the lens cover.

| The camera is asleep.

| The batteries are low, dead, or not
installed.

Replace the batteries or use a power
adapter.

Reinstall the batteries. See Installing
the Batteries.

| The power adapter was disconnected
from the camera while the camera was
still turned on.

Plug the power adapter back in to the
camera, turn the camera on and then off
again, and then disconnect the power
adapter from it.

| Part of a Picture Is Missing |
| Cause |

| Something was in front of the lens when
the picture was taken.
|
Make sure that your hands and other
objects are not in front of the lens or the
flash.
|
| Nothing Happens When the Shutter Is Pressed |

| The flash is recharging.
|
Look through the viewfinder and wait for
the red light to turn off.
|
| The camera does not have room for
another picture.
|
Erase the last picture or all of the stored
pictures as described in Erasing
Pictures.

| Picture Is Not Clear |

| The lens is dirty.

| The subject or the camera moved before

Hold the camera steady until after you
hear the shutter click.

Move so the subject is less than nine feet
away.

| The flash should have been used but
was not.

Turn on the flash.

Change your position so the light is not

| The flash was not needed.

Change to Automatic Flash.

| The subject was too close when the flash

between you and the subject.
