The Self-Timer setting creates a 10-second delay between the time you press the Shutter button and the time the picture is taken. The self-timer setting can be used in Capture or Close-Up modes.
Note: This setting is ideal when you want to include yourself in the picture.

-
With the camera on, turn the Mode dial to Capture or Close-Up.
-
Press the Self-Timer button until the
icon appears in the LCD.
-
Place the camera on a flat steady surface, or tripod.
-
Compose the picture, then press the Shutter button.
The Self-Timer light, located on the front of the camera, turns on for 8-seconds, then blinks for 2 additional seconds before the picture is taken.
You may not change camera settings, such as flash, during the 10-second delay after you press the Shutter button.
The Self-Timer turns off after the picture is taken, or you can cancel the Self-Timer by pressing the Self-Timer button again.
