Troubleshooting Guide

What happened Correction
Daylight pictures too dark Use more light.
No picture or partial picture Keep objects away from lens.
Pictures blurred Hold camera steady.
Have subject stand still, or have subject move slowly toward you.
Keep at least 5 feet (1.5 metres) from subject
Foggy, misty pictures Clean lens (see Camera Care).
Subject not centered or partly cut off Frame subject in viewfinder.
Red reflections in subject's eyes Turn on all room lights. For flash pictures, make sure your subject is within the flash range (see Using the flash).
Ready light won't glow or unit won't flash Insert batteries correctly (see Loading the batteries).
Replace batteries.
Flash pictures too dark Wait a few seconds after flash ready light glows.
Keep your hand or fingers away from the flash.
Flash pictures too light Subject must be at least 5 feet (1.5 metres) from flash.
Flash-recycle time longer than 30 seconds Clean battery-contact points with a rough cloth.
Replace batteries.
