The Internet currently consists of a rapidly developing mix of online services and Internet Service Providers using browser software that runs on a variety of operating systems including Windows 95, Windows 3.1, Macintosh OS, and Unix.

At the present, KODAK Print Service is available only through Microsoft Picture It! software, it is therefore limited to use by Windows 95 users. In addition, the underlying communications software (called "Winsock") is "32-bit" software, meaning that it is designed to work only in a 32-bit operating system (such as Windows 95). As a result, any Internet Service Provider (ISP) or online service whose software still uses a 16-bit Winsock for communications (which many do to make it operate in both Windows 3.1 and Windows 95) will not support communications with KODAK Print Service. The following is a list of services we have evaluated and whether or not they are compatible with KODAK Print Service.

Please check this list from time to time to see if anything has changed. This software is evolving very rapidly, and we expect that many services (such as America Online) which are not currently compatible will become compatible in new releases of software which are imminent.

Online Services and Internet Service Providers

Online Services

America Online (AOL) v2.5 - NOT Supported. Not compatible with Windows 95 (32 bit) Winsock applications. Requires proprietary dialer and AOL supplied software.

America Online (AOL) v3.0 - SUPPORTED. However, users must connect to AOL using the proprietary dialer before selecting the Print at Kodak or Download Custom Creations tasks in Picture It!.

CompuServe v2.0.1 - NOT Supported. Not compatible with Windows 95 (32 bit) Winsock applications. Requires proprietary dialer and CompuServe supplied software.

CompuServe v3.0.1 - SUPPORTED. Compatible with Windows 95 (32 bit) Winsock applications. Requires proprietary dialer and CompuServe supplied software.

Microsoft Network (MSN) - SUPPORTED. MSN is supplied on the Windows 95 installation media. Auto-downloads software upgrades. Compatible with Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. Prodigy v1.5 - NOT Supported. Not compatible with Windows 95 (32 bit) Winsock applications. Requires proprietary dialer and Prodigy supplied software.

WOW! from CompuServe v1.0 - NOT Supported. Not compatible with Windows 95 (32 bit) Winsock applications. Requires proprietary dialer and CompuServe supplied software.

Internet Service Providers (ISPs)

Generic PPP/SLIP ISP Account - SUPPORTED if Windows 95 Winsock (32 bit) compatible and using a supported browser. For information on locating ISPs within a specific U.S. state or Canadian province go to http://thelist.iworld.com/index.html. The List provides a searchable mechanism for locating local and national ISPs.

AT&T WorldNet Service 1.0 - NOT SUPPORTED. Not compatible with Windows 95 (32 bit) Winsock applications. Requires proprietary dialer and AT&T supplied software.

Upgrade software can be downloaded from WorldNet by registered users. AT&T WorldNet Customer Service can be contacted at 800-400-1447.

AT&T WorldNet Service 2.0 for Windows 95 - SUPPORTED. Software upgrade can be downloaded from WorldNet by registered WorldNet users. AT&T branded version of Netscape Navigator 2.1 provided. AT&T WorldNet Customer Service can be contacted at 800-400-1447.

Global Network Navigator (GNN) - NOT Supported. Not compatible with Windows 95 (32 bit) Winsock applications. Requires proprietary dialer and GNN supplied software.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer v2.0 for Windows 95 - SUPPORTED. Packaged on Picture It! CD. KODAK Print Service helper applet is installed by Picture It!.

Internet Explorer v3.0x - SUPPORTED, with one known problem. Internet Explorer 3.0 occasionally causes the KODAK Print Service helper applet to not be invoked all the time, instead Picture It! will be invoked. Netscape Navigator

Netscape Navigator v2.x - SUPPORTED. 32 bit versions for Windows 95 and NT. KODAK Print Service helper applet is auto-downloaded and installed on first connect to the Kodak's FTP Server.

Netscape Navigator v3.0x - SUPPORTED. 32 bit versions for Windows 95 and NT. KODAK IMAGE MAGIC Print Service helper applet is auto-downloaded and installed on first connect to Kodak's FTP Server.

Netscape Navigator v4.0 - SUPPORTED. 32 bit versions for Windows 95 and NT. KODAK IMAGE MAGIC Print Service helper applet is auto-downloaded and installed on first connect to Kodak's FTP Server.
