- What are the advantages of using KODAK EKTACOLOR EDGE Paper?
-
KODAK EKTACOLOR EDGE Paper will give your customers long-lasting prints with bold, bright colors The paper provides excellent results from digital files, as well as from Kodak's and other manufacturers' films—either optically exposed or from scanned image files.
- What recent upgrades were made to KODAK EKTACOLOR EDGE Paper?
-
There have been no changes to the product's formulation, just the branding on the package.
- How does KODAK EKTACOLOR EDGE Paper handle digital images or files?
-
The characteristics of a digital printer need to be incorporated into the design of the paper to accommodate its different (compared with optical) dynamic range of exposure.
Digital files are pixelated. Lines are not as smooth as optical. Fine lines and text in KODAK EKTACOLOR EDGE Paper are carefully protected from bleed and light scatter, protecting those fine lines. Similarly, color areas are susceptible to color bleeding. In high areas of color the scatter could cause one color to bleed into another. EKTACOLOR EDGE Paper has been designed to protect the image. The result is sharp, clear colors and lines.
- What is the difference between KODAK EKTACOLOR EDGE Paper and KODAK ROYAL Digital Paper?
-
EKTACOLOR EDGE Paper is over 8-mil thick, has a silver gray backprint, and is offered in F (glossy) and E (fine lustre) surfaces.
ROYAL Digital Paper is over 10-mil thick, features a distinctive gold backprint, and is offered in F (glossy) and N (matt) surfaces. This gives it a premium, more rigid feel.
Both EDGE and ROYAL Papers are similar in the way they respond to light during exposure (spectral response) and in color saturation.
EDGE Paper is a lower-cost product.
