Why two lenses?
RETINA Dual Lens Technology features both an ultra-wide angle lens (23 mm equivalent) and a 3X optical zoom lens (up to 117 mm equivalent telephoto), providing a 5X optical zoom range. This innovative technology makes it a snap to take both ultra-wide angle and close-up shots all in one compact camera design.

The prism lens design
The V570 features a prism lens design. This means as light rays enter the SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH C-VARIOGON lenses, the rays are bent at a 90-degree angle and beamed through the barrel lens elements before they reach the dual CCD imaging sensors. The lens system is stacked along the camera’s length, as opposed to the depth, enabling the thin camera design. While zooming, the lens elements move within the barrel, so the lens never extends beyond the body of the camera, protecting the fully enclosed lens system.

Panorama stitch mode
Select the panorama stitch mode and connect 2 or 3 pictures to create one broad vista.
The panorama stitch feature automatically:

| Displays an overlay on the side of the LCD indicating where one picture ended and the next should align |
|
| In just 3 shots, captures up to 180º of coverage in ultra-wide angle – an industry exclusive |
|
| Stitches together 2 or 3 pictures (3.1 MP min. each) in real time |
|
| Locks the exposure and white balance on the first picture, and sets the flash to “off” to maintain consistency across the sequence of pictures |

An overlay appears on the camera display, indicating where one picture ended and the other should align. Simply line up the details in the images for a seamless panoramic

Selectable distortion correction
Barrel distortion, or fish eye, is a common result of shooting with a wide-angle lens. While this may be a desired creative effect in some shots, it may not be in others. The selectable distortion correction automatically corrects this effect.
