Retail photofinishers and consumers wanting to recycle film containers should check with their local recycling programs about recycling these materials.
The black film canisters are constructed of virgin high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic (SPI Code2), a tough, semi-rigid material commonly
used for kitchen utensils, tools, toys, and numerous other applications. The gray lids are made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE), also a commonly used plastic (SPI Code 4).
