1 Smart Capture: Automatically achieve greatness.

This tip requires no work on your part thanks to Kodak’s Innovative Smart Capture feature. Smart Capture adjusts camera settings so you get the best picture possible – automatically.
Intelligent scene detection analyzes scene conditions to deliver the best picture possible. Intelligent capture control automatically sets focus, exposure and ISO to capture clear, sharp pictures in low light and challenging situations. Intelligent image processing reduces noise and clears up dark shadows for vibrant, crisp details.

2 Face Detection: Capture on what matters in every shot.

Make sure the stars of your photo stand out. Face detection technology automatically locates faces in a scene and adjusts your camera settings to focus on what really matters.
In Auto or Smart Capture mode your camera automatically selects the most prominent face(s). Manually select a different face using the navigation controls or touch screen.

3 Kodak Perfect Touch: Get better, brighter pictures with just a click

Kodak Perfect Touch technology clears up dark shadows so you can relive your memories in richer detail.
  • Press the Review button*.
  • Press arrow for previous ⁄ next picture.
  • Press the Menu button, choose Perfect Touch tech, then press the OK button.
  • Follow the screen prompts to replace the original picture or to save the enhanced picture as a new one.
*Note: Kodak Perfect Touch is automatically applied in Smart Capture mode.

4 Scene modes: Dial up your creative side

Get the most out of your pictures with scene modes. Switching to the appropriate mode means your camera will adjust to ensure great shots in specific situations like portrait, children, snow, beach, etc.
  • Press the Auto ⁄ SCN button until the Scene icons appear on the mode dial.
  • View scene mode descriptions.
  • Press the OK button to choose a Scene mode.

5 Image Stabilization and Blur Reduction: Get sharper, steady pictures.

Life is always moving but you can still get sharp, steady pictures. Optical image stabilization automatically minimizes camera shake due to long zoom ranges. Blur reduction technology minimizes blur caused by subject movement or low light conditions.
Press the Menu button to customize your camera.
  • Highlight Setup, then press the OK button.
  • Highlight the setting you wish to change, then press the OK button.
  • Choose an option, then press the OK button.
Blurry picture alert*
*When turned on, a blurry hand icon is displayed during picture review and quickview:
GREEN: Picture is sharp enough for an acceptable 4 x 6-inch (10 x 15 cm) print.
Yellow: Picture may be sharp enough for an acceptable 4 x 6-inch (10 x 15 cm) print or sharpness is not determined.
Red: Picture is not sharp enough for an acceptable 4 x 6-inch (10 x 15 cm) print.
White: Print sharpness is not determined.
• Note: "Blur Warning" menu option (and therefore "Blurry picture alert") is only available on select cameras.

6 S1 Technology: Forget about flash, we��ve got it under control.

Is it too dark? Is it too light? No matter what, it’ll be alright. S1 Technology prevents blurry pictures, lighting and flash issues from occurring.
  • Press the Shutter button halfway to focus and set exposure.
  • Wait for the ready light or framing marks to turn green.
  • Focus lock sound is generated.
  • Press the Shutter button completely down.

7 Panorama stitch mode: Get the big picture.

Go longer and wider with the panorama stich mode. Combine up to three shots to make one large panoramic scene.
  • Press the Auto ⁄ SCN button until the Scene icons appear on the LCD.
  • Use the mode button, mode dial, or touch screen to access the panoramic mode.
  • Take the first picture.
  • After a quickview, the LCD displays the live view and an "overlay" from the first picture.
  • Compose the second picture. Make the overlay from the first picture cover the same portion in the new picture. (You can press the Delete button to re-take a picture.)
  • If you are taking only 2 pictures, press the OK button to stitch them together.
  • After you take 3 pictures, the pictures are automatically stitched together.

8 HD Quality: Capture real life that looks like real life.

Take pictures and video in stunning HD quality and enjoy them on your HDTV or other HD device, using the optional Kodak EasyShare HDTV dock.
HD picture set up
  • Press the menu button.
  • Press the arrow for previous/next to highlight a menu tab.
  • Select the camera capture icon option.
  • Press and highlight the picture size setting.
  • Choose a picture resolution - 9.0 MP or 2.1 MP for 16:9 HDTV format.
HD video set up
  • Press the menu button.
  • Press the arrow for previous/next to highlight a menu tab.
  • Select the video camera icon option.
  • Press and highlight the video size setting.
  • Choose a video resolution- 1280 x 720 (HD720p) HW HDTV format, uses the least compression and gives the highest video quality or 1280 x 720p) default HDTV format, uses compression to save space.

9 Text and Sound Tags: Note to self – add messages to pictures.

Never forget that special moment. Add sound or text tags to your pictures.
Creating Text Tags
  • Press the Review button, then find a picture⁄video.
  • Press the Menu button.
  • Highlight Tag, then press OK.
  • To add a tag name, use the Add Tag option, then use the on-camera keyboard.
  • Highlight a Tag name, then press OK.
  • To tag other pictures, scroll through pictures⁄videos. When the picture⁄video you want is displayed, press OK.
  • Highlight Exit, then press OK.
  • The tag name appears with the picture.
Recording a sound tag
  • Press the Review button, then to find a picture.
  • Press the Menu button, then to highlight the Edit tab.
  • Highlight Sound Tag. Press the OK button.
  • Choose Record, then press OK.
  • Follow the screen prompts.
  • The sound tag is applied to your picture.

10 Slideshows: Make your friends flip with this awesome show.

The only thing better than your awesome pictures of your vacation is a seamless slideshow – complete with preloaded sound themes and transition effects – right on your camera.
  • Use Slide Show to display your pictures on the LCD.
  • Press the Review button, then the Menu button.
  • Highlight Slide Show, then press the OK button.
  • Highlight Begin Show, then press the OK button.
  • To interrupt the Slide Show, press the OK button.
