Routing Instructions

Contains information about:

Mode Selection

Mode is the primary method by which goods and materials are transported from origin port to destination country, e.g. air courier, ocean LCL, etc.

  • Mode selection is at the discretion of Eastman Kodak Company. The Kodak contact whose name and phone number appear on the purchase order should contact the KODAK Import Transportation Logistics Coordinator for guidance on mode and lane selection. See the Contacts section of this site for details.
  • Mode selection for air must be authorized prior to shipment through the Kodak buyer.
  • Selection of mode is determined by weight and dimensions of the shipment, and the most economical transportation method, combined with lead-time requirements to delivery.
  • Ask your Kodak contact for Supplier Mode-Specific Shipping Instructions for each mode determined. The mode selection will be included.
  • If the mode selection is air courier, and Kodak is paying for transportation (per the Incoterms® rules applied to the buyer/seller Agreement), the Kodak freight forwarder's Account Number will be required by the air forwarder.

    • The appropriate account number will be provided on the Supplier Mode-Specific Shipping Instructions.

  • Some mode determination guidelines:

    • Air Courier (usually < 70 Lbs) – If Kodak pays for the freight charges, will require a Kodak air express forwarder's Account Number, as defined in the Supplier Mode-Specific Shipping Instructions.
    • Air Freight (usually > 70 Lbs) - May be less than 70 Lbs but may be oversized or awkward packaging to handle; usually, but not necessarily palletized cargo.
    • Ground FTL (full truck load) dry or refer – Cargo should safely fill a truck. Pallet count is dependent on truck size and features.
    • Ground LTL (less than truck load) – may include one or more pallets.
    • Ocean FCL (full container load, including 20 or 40 foot containers) dry or refer.
    • Ocean LCL (less than container load) – may be one or more pallets.

Carrier / Freight Forwarder Selection

Ask your Kodak contact for Supplier Mode-Specific Shipping Instructions. The carrier / freight forwarder details will be included. The Kodak contact should consult with the KODAK Transportation Logistics Coordinator before determining carrier/freight forwarder or lane selection. See the Contacts section of this site for details.

  • Carrier selection is first dependent on Incoterms® 2010 as agreed upon between buyer and seller.

    • For "E" or "F" terms:

      • When Incoterms start with "E", the carrier selection for all legs of the transportation are at the discretion of Eastman Kodak Company.
      • When Incoterms start with "F", carrier selection for main and on-carriage is at the discretion of Eastman Kodak Company.

    •
    • For "C" or "D" terms:

      • When terms start with "C" and shipment terminates at the US port of arrival, carrier selection for pre-carriage and main-carriage are at the discretion of the supplier/seller. The on-carriage transport provider is at the discretion of Eastman Kodak Company.
      • When Incoterms start with "C" and the shipment terminates at the delivery destination address the supplier/seller is responsible for all carriage (door to door).
      • When terms start with "D", carrier selection for all legs of the transportation are at the discretion of the supplier/seller.
      • When terms start with "C" or "D" the supplier/seller MUST notify their forwarder/carrier with proper US import and destination delivery instructions, including the appropriate connections with Kodak to assure successful destination delivery.
      • Obtain Supplier Mode-Specific Shipping Instructions for each mode of transportation desired, even if as the supplier, you are responsible for the main transportation.
        • THIS IS IMPORTANT so Kodak destinations will be made aware of incoming shipments and will have the contact information necessary to track and receive pending shipments effectively.

      Third Party Drop-Shipments

      • If shipments are to be drop-shipped to a 3rd party location other than a Kodak facility, at the request of Kodak, the supplier/seller shall state the freight payment terms as "3rd party bill collect, Kodak".
      • The third party bill address is:
        Cass Information Systems
If sending freight bill through US Postal Service:
        Eastman Kodak Company
        c/o Cass Information Systems
        P.O. Box 67
        St. Louis, MO 63166-0067
If delivering freight bill by courier:
        Eastman Kodak Company
        c/o Cass Information Systems
        13001 Hollenberg Drive
        Bridgeton, MO 63044
      • The Kodak preferred Incoterms® rules for 3rd Party Billed shipments are the same as those noted in the Terms of Sale (Incoterms® 2010) section of this site.
