For all modes of transport a Pre-Alert notification shall be
prepared by the foreign supplier/shipping point/subcontractor
(e.g 3rd Party Logistics Provider) or the freight forwarder when all information are not known by the seller.
The Foreign supplier/shipping point/subcontractor (e.g 3rd Party Logistics Provider) or the freight forwarder must ensure that the ENS is submitted on the legal deadlines. For more information, click here.
The Pre-Alert / Pre-Advice shall be in English and contain the following information:
- SUBJECT LINE of the pre-alert must include:
- Supplier/shipper's company name,
- Mode of transport (Air, Ocean, Ground)
- Supplier Commercial invoice number,
- Kodak’s Purchase Order Number
- GENERAL CONTENT must include:
- International supplier's/shipper's company name and address,
- International seller's commercial invoice number,
- Ship-to consignee delivery destination name and address,
- Kodak purchase order number or return authorization number,
- Piece count (if palletized, indicate number of pallets and number of cartons),
- Gross and net weights (kilograms),
- For AIR FREIGHT shipments must also include:
- Airline and flight numbers,
- House and Master air waybill numbers,
- Actual date of departure and,
- Estimated date of arrival at destination airport.
- ENS status
- For OCEAN FREIGHT shipments must also include:
- Port of departure and port of entry ,
- Ocean container number and size,
- Steamship company,
- Vessel name,
- House and Master sea waybill numbers,
- Actual date of departure and,
- Estimated date of arrival at destination seaport.
- Seal number (for FCL)
- ENS status – In case of "DO NOT LOAD" message received from Customs Authorities, an e-mail must be sent to the e-address noted on the Supplier Mode-Specific Shipping Instructions, obtained from your Kodak contact.
- For GROUND shipments must also include:
- Trucking company with complete name and address,
- Truck number,
- Ground Bill of Lading number to be replaced by CMR number,
- Seal number (for FTL),
- Actual date of departure and estimated date of arrival at destination.

The Pre-Advice / Pre-Alert shall include the following attachments:
The Pre-Advice / Pre-Alert and all attachments shall be sent by email on or before the flight, sailing or departure date, to the e-addresses noted on the Supplier Mode-Specific Shipping Instructions, obtained from your Kodak contact.
All information on ENS Status must be transmitted to Kodak by e-mail in case of:
- Risk A: Do Not Load
- Risk B: Interception of a suspicious shipment at the first port of entry
- Risk C: Interception of a suspicious shipment at the port of discharge
