Pre-Notification / Pre-Advice / Pre-Alert

Contains information about:

  • ISF PRE-NOTIFICATION INSTRUCTIONS (for ocean shipments)

    • For ALL ocean shipments destined for US ports, an ISF Pre-Notification must be sent by e-Mail to US-ImportServices@kodak.com, or as otherwise instructed on Shipping Instructions.
    • The Pre-Notification shall be sent a minimum of 72 hours before vessel LOADING. This is to assure US Customs Border Protection (US CBP) Importer Security Filing (ISF 10+2) is completed, submitted and approved by US CBP on time, as required by US Import Regulations.
      • Failure to provide all pertinent details accurately, and in time to receive an approval to load message from US CBP may put the shipment at risk.
      • After the CBP grace period (1 year from implementation date, January 26, 2010) this risk could result in serious consequences for the importer, including but not limited to missed sailings, possible loss or damage, and hefty penalties and/or fines.
       
    • SUBJECT LINE must include:
      • Words, "ISF Prenote
      • International supplier's/shipper's company name
      • Country of Export,
      • Invoice number,
      • BOL number (HWB preferred, but MWB if HWB is not available)
       
    • GENERAL CONTENT must include:
      • The ISF Pre-Notification shall include the following attachment:  
      • Container Stuffing Location with complete address including postal code  
      • Consolidator name and complete address including postal code  
      • Sea Waybill of Lading (BOL) number at lowest level (House preferred, but Master if House is not applicable). The BOL number must match AMS.
      • International carrier name
      • Vessel Loading date
      • Vessel Sailing date (ETD)
      • Estimated Arrival date at US port (ETA)
       
     
  • All ISF Pre-Notifications, Pre-Advices or Pre-Alerts must be prepared as follows:
    • Air freight Pre-Alerts shall be prepared by the freight forwarder.
    • Ground shipment Pre-Advices shall be prepared by the seller's shipper location.
    • Ocean FCL Pre-Advices shall be prepared by the seller's shipper location.
    • Ocean LCL Pre-Alerts shall be prepared by the freight forwarder.
    • ISF Pre-Notifications for either Ocean FCL or LCL shall be prepared by the seller's shipper location.
    • The ISF Pre-Notification / Pre-Alert / Pre-Advice shall be in English.
     
  • PRE-ADVICE / PRE-ALERT / SHIPPING NOTICE INSTRUCTIONS

    • The Pre-Advice / Pre-Alert and all attachments shall be sent on or before the flight, sailing or departure date, to US-ImportServices@Kodak.com, as well as to any other e-mail addresses noted on the Supplier Mode-Specific Shipping Instructions, obtained from your Kodak contact.
    • The Pre-Advice / Pre-Alert shall include the following attachments:
      • Bill of Lading or Waybill,
      • Commercial Invoice,
      • Packing List, and
      • Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for chemical shipments only,
      • Declarations of Dangerous Goods for chemical shipments only.
       
    • SUBJECT LINE must include:
      • The words, Pre-Advice or Pre-Alert should be followed by…
      • International supplier's/shipper's company name and address,
      • International seller's commercial invoice number,
      • Country of export.
       
    • GENERAL CONTENT must include:
      • International supplier's/shipper's company name and address,
      • International seller's commercial invoice number,
      • Ship-to consignee delivery destination name and address,
      • Kodak purchase order or return authorization number,
      • Piece count (if palletized, indicate number of pallets and number of cartons),
      • Gross and net weights,
      • For AIR FREIGHT shipments must also include:
        • Airline and flight numbers,
        • House and Master air waybill numbers,
        • Actual date of departure,
        • Estimated date of arrival at destination airport,
        • International departure port and location and,
        • First US Arrival port name and location.
         
      • For OCEAN VESSEL shipments must also include:
        • Ocean container number and size,
        • Steamship company,
        • Vessel name,
        • House and Master sea waybill numbers,
        • Actual date of departure,
        • Estimated date of arrival at destination seaport,
        • International departure seaport and location and,
        • Arrival seaport name and location.
         
      • For GROUND shipments must also include:
        • Trucking company with complete name and address,
        • Truck number,
        • Ground Bill of Lading number and,
        • US border crossing location.
