Before you send your equipment for service
If your equipment is not working as it should, please review the section of the owner's/user's manual referring to the condition you are experiencing. (The "Troubleshooting Guide" appearing in most of our manuals can be helpful.) Many products sent for repair do not need service, so please review this information carefully to avoid being without your equipment unnecessarily.
If your equipment is powered by user-replaceable batteries, have them tested to be sure they are up to operational level. From experience we know, it is possible for even a newly-purchased battery to be at less than full strength. Also, make sure you are using the correct type of battery (alkaline, lithium, etc) as stated in the owner's/user's manual. (A regular or heavy-duty battery may not have enough power to operate your equipment.)
To determine if your equipment is still under warranty, read the warranty information printed in the owner's/user's manual or call the Kodak Information Center at (800) 242-2424, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time. You should have your dated sales receipt in order to obtain repair service under warranty.
When you send your equipment for service
KODAK equipment can be sent to any of the Warranty Repair Service Centers. Your photo dealer can do this for you if you wish, but be sure to ask if they charge for doing so. If you would like to send your equipment to a Warranty Repair Service Center yourself, please:
- Choose the nearest service center that offers service on your equipment. Before sending your equipment, contact the service center by telephone to discuss the terms of repair and to tell them if the equipment is needed back by a specific date.
- Complete the problem report form (PDF) and attach it with your equipment. Include a copy of your dated sales receipt (charge card or cash register receipt) in order to obtain repair service under warranty.
- When sending a camera for service, it's helpful to include photographic samples:
- If sending prints, be sure to include the negatives; they can tell the technician if the problem maybe related to processing or printing.
- If sending slides, send a complete roll of film showing what's wrong.
- Place your equipment in a plastic bag to keep out dirt and packing material. Use a sturdy carton large enough for you to surround the equipment completely with packing material, such as three inches of crumpled newspaper on all sides, top, and bottom. Securely fasten the carton with tape. Clearly write the address of the Warranty Repair Service Center and your name and address on the top and bottom of the carton. You may want to insure the package for replacement value and ship by either Parcel Post or UPS.
IMPORTANT: The following Warranty Repair Service Centers will service KODAK equipment under warranty, as well as those that are not under warranty. Post-warranty repair pricing is set by the repair center, not by Eastman Kodak Company. Please contact a repair center location for pricing information, as well as other details, prior to sending equipment.
