The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) held its 22nd
Annual Outstanding Achievement Awards gala in Los Angeles in
January. Robert Elswit, ASC took home the feature film award for
There Will Be Blood.
Other nominees in the feature category were Roger Deakins,
ASC, BSC for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward
Robert Ford and No Country for Old Men, Janusz Kaminski for
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and Seamus McGarvey, BSC for
Atonement. All of the nominated feature films were shot using
Kodak color negative films.
Ben Nott, ACS won the television movie/miniseries/pilot
competition for his work on the TNT miniseries The Company.
Winter took top nods in the episodic TV competition for CW's
Smallville ("Noir").
