Adriano S. Barbuto is a Brazilian director of photography who teaches cinematography at the Universidade Federal de Sao Carlos and at the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation. He says that one of his main tasks in educating tomorrow's filmmakers is overcoming their fascination with technology.

Barbuto recently had an opportunity to put his theories into practice when he filmed We Are Still the Same, a story about a teenager who after his grandfather dies decides to look for his father in the big city of Sao Paulo. Along the way, the teenager learns some lessons about life. Read More
