(L to R) Sergio Leone, Danilo Desideri, AIC, and Carlo Verdone

He has worked with many other well-known Italian directors such as Lattuada, Manfredi, Corbucci, Nuti, Citti, De Crescenzo and, of course, Carlo Verdone.
Their long association began in 1982 with Acqua e sapone. Since then, Verdone and Desideri have made many fine films together, including their latest, the bitter-sweet black comedy L’amore è eterno finchè dura (Love is Eternal, As Long as It Lasts).
We met Danilo when he had just finished filming, and asked him about the film and his cinematic philosophy.
