 | | Chris Hart | Like many cinematographers, Chris knew he wanted to be behind the camera at a very young age. He studied fine art photography and filmmaking at Rochester Institute of Technology with an eye toward eventually shooting features. As often happens, his life course and priorities were changed when he married and started a family. Shortly thereafter (in the early 1980s), Kodak offered him a job in the motion picture research division. This provided Chris a great opportunity to pursue his love of the craft, be involved with the motion picture industry -- and support a brood of kids. Chris is now the primary cinematographer of Kodak's motion picture research organization, and his photographic touch has been on every new film program that Kodak has introduced since 1989. Though he admits to not being extremely technical in nature, Chris has gleaned practical, photographic knowledge by simply working among the scientific research community. This has allowed him to blend the art and science of cinematography in a way that has helped scores of customers and workshop participants in their understanding of the craft and technique of motion pictures.
