New Kodak EasyShare Software v3.0 for Macintosh OS X
Simplifies Digital Picture Organization and Sharing; Free
Download at Kodak.com
Version 3.0 Catalogs Over 10,000 Images and Movies;
Adds On-Screen Album Creation
SAN FRANCISCO, June 23 -- Eastman
Kodak Company today unveiled a new Macintosh version of its
digital picture
organization and sharing software at the Apple Worldwide
Developers Conference 2003. Designed from the ground up as a
native OS X application, Kodak
EasyShare software version 3.0 for Macintosh OS X
(10.2 and higher) offers
digital camera owners new features to make it even simpler to
quickly view, organize, edit, share, and print their digital
pictures, including support for 10,000 images and movies,
on-screen album creation, and DVD/CD burning. The free download
of the full Macintosh version is
available by visiting www.kodak.com/go/EasyShareswmac. A
CD will also be available for a nominal charge.
"Macintosh computer
owners need a better way to organize their ever-expanding
collection of digital pictures, and an easier way to share them
with family and friends," said William Jackson, general manager
of desktop software and new services for Kodak's Digital
& Applied Imaging business unit. "Kodak
EasyShare Software designed with the
one-touch simplicity that the world expects from Kodak
makes it effortless to enjoy all the benefits of digital
photography, regardless of what brand camera was used to take
the pictures. In addition, features found in new
Kodak EasyShare cameras, such as favorites
and albums, are fully supported."
Organize Automatically and Intuitively
Once EasyShare software
is loaded, it automatically locates and indexes picture and
video files, enabling people to view and sort (e.g., sort by
date taken, date modified, view entire collection) their digital
images from one central location. A person can then create
virtual on-screen photo and video albums, categorizing files
much like they would when creating a traditional photo album.
iPhoto
software users can quickly
export their pictures and associated organization information
(e.g., albums) to Kodak EasyShare
software.
View and Edit with Ease
Users can select from a range of picture viewing
options, such as thumbnails or full-screen. Just a few editing
tools are used by the vast majority of digital camera owners
red-eye removal, one-touch enhancement, cropping for
popular print sizes, brightness and exposure compensation, and
zoom and Kodak EasyShare
software v3.0 includes them all. The tools are only a mouse
click away when viewing a picture, eliminating the need to hunt
through endless menus and sub-menus.
Share Online, With Prints, and on DVD/CD
Kodak EasyShare software
includes a built-in e-mail program, giving people a choice of
sending photos at full resolution (i.e., large file sizes) or
automatically resizing and compressing them for faster
transmission.
Simplifying home photo printing, the software provides
people a choice of common layouts for inkjet printers, as well
as the new Kodak EasyShare printer
dock 6000 for borderless, water-resistant, long-lasting 4 x
6-inch Kodak pictures in as little
as 90 seconds.
Kodak EasyShare
software's new DVD/CD burning feature enables people to
back up their precious memories with a few clicks of the mouse.
Using easy-to-follow directions, users with a DVD- or
CD-recordable drive can quickly save selected pictures to discs,
which can then be stored for archival purposes or given to
family and friends.
The software is available in six languages: English,
French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish. Version 3.0
requires Macintosh OS 10.2 or
later, a 800 x 600 color monitor (thousands or millions of
colors recommended), 128 MB RAM, and 200 MB free hard drive
space. A CD or DVD-recordable drive (CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW)
is required to use the DVD/CD burning feature, an Internet
connection is necessary for e-mailing, and an inkjet or thermal
printer is needed for at-home printing. Version 3.0 for
Windows
systems is also available
for download from www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw
The award-winning Kodak
EasyShare digital photography system
consisting of cameras, software, docks and printer docks, inkjet
