 Lots
of problems here! My subject was too cold! The bright backlight of the
sun and snow caused the camera to underexpose the shadows, the sunlight
caused lens flare. Really look into the situation before you snap the
shutter.

Make
sure you have light illuminating your subject, that they are not squinting,
and that the background is clear of distractions.
