What would you consider to be a successful racing season, just for yourself?
After the last couple years, I think the most important thing is getting in the Victory Lane. I know that's what everybody's racing for and it's not that easy to do, but we're going to work real hard on this race team and learn the court. I think everybody on the team is working on that as well. I'd like be in the top 15 in points.
So, Robby, are you ready to win on Sunday? All of us are ready! We'll be watching at Rudy's in Anaheim Hills.
Thanks. I hope that we're ready. We're focused on it, and I think after we finish up on Thursday's 125 race, we'll know how we stack up to the competition. A win for the No. 4 Kodak car is not out of the question here; they have won in the past, and I'm excited about it.
Do you think part of the excitement of racing is knowing that if you make even a small mistake you could be in great danger?
That's obviously part of it, but I think the competition is the most exciting thing. It's so competitive, and I believe that's why NASCAR is so strong in today's market. The close competition is exciting. I think the fans being in potential danger is exciting. Being a driver, you don't think of the danger part of it. You think of the close competition and trying to win races.
Which current WC driver are you closest to?
I don't know. I don't have anybody I'm really close to. If I was to give advice, it would probably be Rusty Wallace. The competition is so close and things happen so quickly. Coming from my past experience, I consider myself a friend of the other drivers but at the same time, you are competing against them to win, so it's tough to be best friends with them.
Do you have to do any training like other athletes do for racing? Like special diet or exercise?
Yes we do. The cardiovascular part is very important. The races are five hours, and you have to be focused and concentrate for five hours at a time and you can't have any distractions or getting tired or you'll slow down. Maybe not quite as much as someone racing a motorcraft, but being physically fit and being able to recover quickly.
You are a hero to so many, who are your heroes?
I think some of my heroes are racecar drivers. Mario Andretti, AJ Foyt, Parnelli Jones are drivers that could race anything, whether Indy car, a NASCAR; they were all competitive. That day is changing. People are still specialized in a single sport, and I think it's great that those guys have won races in all formulas.
I am 16 years old and wish to become a NASCAR driver. How do I Become one?
I didn't come up through the NASCAR ranks, so to be a NASCAR driver, I couldn't give you the best example how to get there. I think it would be important to race short tracks and modifieds and late models to get the experience racing on that surface all the time.
How has your driving changed with the new aerodynamics in draft, in comparison to last year at Daytona race?
It's definitely a lot different. I think the cars are different in that they draft up behind another vehicle. It definitely changes the way you drive the racecar and things you do with the racecar. You have to be careful because the closing speed is a lot faster, so you have to be careful of in front of you or moving up in the line and getting hit, so it does change quite a bit.
Do you think that NASCAR would ever do a double-bill with the IRL?
Huh! Interesting question. I've never thought of it. It would probably work and might be quite exciting. Present it to somebody.
Hi Robby. I work for Kodak here at KCD Kodak Colorado Division. I go to the race at Phoenix every year and I look to meeting you there. I think you will have a very good year and I am excited about it. The #4 car sure looks strong at Daytona.

What differences have you noticed between the Chevy this year and the Ford you drove last year?
I think the biggest difference I can tell so far is the amount of horsepower that we have currently with the Morgan-McClure Motorsports team. I think that's the hardest single area we struggled with last year. The cars were competitive and fast, but we struggled in the horsepower department, and this team has a lot of it.
Do you have any advice for a person like me who would like to be a racer someday?
Get involved at a smaller series like go-cart racing or local NASCAR that race around local racetracks, but go-carts to start with.
