I took this picture with the Kodak DC4800. To boost the colors in the scene, I used the camera's Saturated mode. (You can also select normal, B&W, B&W with yellow filter, B&W with red filter, and sepia.)

When composing a scene, think about how color variations can affect a picture's impact. By shifting position or angle, you alter the background of the scene, and the mood as well.
This picture of actress Kelly Packard and a log cutter at the 2000 Great Outdoor Games is a favorite. The unique viewpoints add impact to a scene that is usually photographed with telephoto lenses. When shooting close-ups with a digital camera, use the camera's LCD screen to make sure you've "got the shot."
