A Quiet Camera Granted full freedom in Clinton's White House,
McNeely became Clinton's shadow. His quiet
Leica M6 camera enabled him to sit in during
most White House meetings. McNeely used his access with care. In
Security Council meetings, he positioned
himself to capture the faces of participants,
not charts or maps they were viewing.
"A couple of National Security Advisors
questioned my presence at these meetings,
but I explained that I wasn't interested in
the briefings or charts. I was interested
in the people."
