Great Candids McNeely left the White House because
"I'd taken nearly every conceivable
photograph of the president and his aides."
In 1998, he formed Photo2000: Democracy
at the Millennium, to document the U.S.
political process. The Kodak Professional
division helped sponsor The Clinton Years
and Photo2000. "The ability to get great candid photographs
goes beyond having a quiet camera," McNeely
said in The Clinton Years. "It requires having
a quiet mind, to become observant and
completely receptive to what is going on...
you must not draw attention to yourself as you
move around a room. I... would stand stock-still
if I thought I was attracting too much notice."
