and beauty. "I always prefer a tent to a hotel room. I find solace in
landscape. The more I travelto remote places like Antarctica, the
Bolivian Altiplano, the Madagascar rainforestthe bigger I think the
world is. Some people say, 'The world is homogenous; the world is small.'
Not where I go! It's still big. It's still timeless. To hike out in Antarctica
and have a scientist say to you, 'It has not rained here in 17 million years,'
that's timeless."
