SJ Chan is brimming with stories, and he's ready to share! A volunteer for the Hong Kong Tourism Board's "Meet the People" program, Mr. Chan can change the way you see Hong Kong in a matter of moments.

The Tin Hau Temple is a perfect example. To the un-indoctrinated, this temple to the seafaring gods seems strangely landlocked in the middle of the city. However, spend a few minutes talking with Mr. Chan and you will be transported right to the water's edge, where this temple was originally built. Was the temple moved? No. The seashore was! In 1955 a massive land reclaiming project filled in big chunks of the harbor to make room for an expanding city, and left this still popular temple miles from the sea.
