The Typhoon Shelter in Aberdeen on the southwestern edge of Hong Kong Island is a great place to catch a glimpse of seafaring life. The best time to visit is during July and August. That's when the government imposes a fishing ban and the boats become a veritable floating village moored in the shelter.
