Terry R. Taber; Chief Technical Officer and Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company

Terry R.Taber

Terry R. Taber joined Kodak in 1980.  In January 2009, he was named Chief Technical Officer reporting to Kodak Chairman and CEO Antonio M. Perez. The Board of Directors elected him a corporate vice president in December 2008.

Mr. Taber was previously the Chief Operating Officer of Kodak's Image Sensor Solutions (ISS) business, a leading developer of advanced CCD and CMOS sensors serving imaging and industrial markets. Prior to joining ISS in 2007, Mr. Taber held a series of senior positions in Kodak's research and development and product organizations. During his 28 years at Kodak, Mr. Taber has been involved in new materials research, product development and commercialization, manufacturing, and executive positions in R&D and business management.

Mr. Taber's early responsibilities included research on new synthetic materials, an area in which he holds several patents. He then became a program manager for several film products before completing the Sloan Fellows program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He returned from MIT to become the worldwide consumer film business product manager from 1999 to 2002, and then became an Associate Director of R&D from 2002 to 2005, followed by a position as the director of Materials & Media R&D from 2005 to 2007.

Mr. Taber received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Purdue University and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology. He also received an M.S. in General Management from MIT as a Kodak Sloan Fellow. In 2003, he was elected to the Board of Trustees at Roberts Wesleyan College and Northeastern Seminary. Mr. Taber serves on the Board of Directors for Infotonics Technology Center, Inc. and on the Executive Advisory Board of FIRST Rochester (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology).


Julie Gerstenberger; Director and Vice President, Kodak External Alliances

Julie Gerstenberger

Julie is focused on Strategic Investment and Portfolio Development, capitalizing on the synergies between Kodak operating units and privately-held firms, universities and research institutions.

To this role, Julie brings over 20 years experience in product development and commercialization for a wide range of applications and markets, including some of Kodak’s earliest digital imaging systems. Her experience bridges strategic planning, business development, technical management, and project management. Within External Alliances, her investment focus has been on consumer imaging systems and services, including applications, devices, infrastructure and enabling technologies.

Julie has an MS in Optics from the University of Rochester and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.


Brian Johnston; Director, Kodak External Alliances

Brian Johnston

Brian is focused on opportunities from venture-backed start-up companies, universities and research institutions that support the strategic objectives and commercial printing technology needs of the Graphic Communications Group. Brian places particular emphasis on workflow related initiatives, applications and devices.

Brian brings to the role a wealth of experience in technology development and commercialization of imaging products for electrophotographic, digital printing and motion imaging applications.

Brian has a Ph.D. from the University of Southampton, U.K. and an M.B.A. from the University of Rochester.


Joel Lawther; Director, Kodak External Alliances

Joel Lawther

Joel is focused on technology opportunities from privately-held companies and universities aligned with Kodak’s Consumer Digital Imaging businesses. Specific areas of interest include consumer digital cameras, devices and imaging software, as well as emerging technology opportunities for the retail-centered printing services group.

Joel’s experience in consumer imaging technology spans product research, advanced development, and commercialization. He holds 59 patents in the diverse fields of optics, mechanical systems, camera systems, printer cartridges, electronic circuits, and more recently in displays and semantic understanding algorithms.

Joel has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.


Subra Narayan; Director, Kodak External Alliances

Subra Narayan

Subra is actively involved in the areas of Strategic Investment and Portfolio Development. He is primarily focused on investments in innovative digital media, mobile imaging, digital display technologies, sensors, entertainment imaging and other opportunities that could leverage Kodak's brand and position in the imaging and printing area. Subra is also involved in infrastructure opportunities enabling seamless, secure transmission, storage, and interaction with digital data.

Subra has a diverse background having worked in Asia and North America for large multinational companies and a small start up that went public and was subsequently acquired. Subra also has investment and operational experience in the venture capital industry.

Subra holds an MBA from Harvard, a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics from Queen's University.


Ray Yingling; Director, Kodak External Alliances

Ray Yingling

Ray is focused on providing access to strategic technology developed in
or by government sources. Opportunities include accessing technology developed in government labs, joint development projects with government labs, and selective development projects that take advantage of government funding to accelerate internal R&D programs.

Ray has extensive background in government project work and University collaborations, including experience with proposals, contracts and project operations. His technical background is in the development of specialized digital imaging systems.

Ray has a BSEE from the University of Rhode Island
