"We relied on EASTMAN EXR 50D 5245 stock for the exterior scenes at Southampton. These were shot flopped. Any writing on buildings, luggage, even tickets was printed backwards, and the actors clothing and hairstyles were reversed. The reason for this was that we only had the starboard side of the ship to film, and the Titanic historically boarded on the port side.
The rest of the film was shot with KODAK VISION 500T 5279, which I really love. It's a fantastic stock, with grainless, creamy blacks. The 5279 is certainly one of the best stocks that I've seen in terms of contrast and shadow detail, and it really holds the bright areas."
