Grass Bus is the work of artist/performer/inventor Gene Pool, whose previous creations include the Living Grass Suit and several Grass Cars. The bus -- designed to promote "user-friendliness" and hence ridership on the St. Louis, Missouri "Redbird Express" -- is Pool's tenth and largest grass-related project. Its living cover was created to remind viewers of the new grass field of the Cardinals baseball team. Car artist Lucy Harvey watered the bus and grass clothing daily.
